We are thrilled to spotlight one of our esteemed colleagues, Lucky Morajane, whose passion and commitment to running have not only brought him personal success but also serve as an inspiration to us all. Lucky, who was first employed by Supreme Spring in 2002, returned to the company as an Operator in 2011. His career progression within our organization has been exemplary; he was promoted to Quality Inspector in 2012 and then advanced to Laboratory Technician in 2018.
Lucky’s Journey with the Comrades Marathon
Lucky began his running career in 2016 and has since achieved remarkable success. In 2017, he ran his first Comrades Marathon and earned a Bill Rowan Medal. He repeated this feat in 2018 with another Bill Rowan Medal. By 2019, Lucky’s hard work paid off even more, and he received his first Silver Medal in the Comrades Marathon.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the cancellation of the Comrades Marathon from 2020 to 2022, Lucky remained committed to his training. His perseverance and dedication were evident when he ran his fourth Comrades Marathon in 2023, where he again received a Silver Medal.
Achieving Excellence: Fifth Comrades Marathon
In 2024, Lucky ran his fifth Comrades Marathon and achieved an outstanding improvement. He completed the race in 7 hours and 10 minutes, a remarkable 13-minute improvement from his previous time of 7 hours and 23 minutes in 2023. This performance secured him yet another Silver Medal, further solidifying his elite status among long-distance runners.
A Source of Inspiration
Lucky’s dedication extends beyond his personal achievements. His daily routine of running to and from work exemplifies discipline and perseverance. He stands as a role model within our organization, embodying the spirit of hard work and determination.
